I have been teaching at Sacred Heart for 13 years. I taught 1st and 2nd grade for 9 years at Sacred Heart before moving
to The Learning Center.
I love to learn. I especially love to read and write. I received my Elementary Education
degree with endorsements in Reading and English/Language Arts from Upper Iowa University. I completed my Master's Degree
in Literacy Education at the University of Northern Iowa.
My goal in The Learning Center is to help students become
life-long learners by teaching them effective learning and thinking strategies. I live in the
small town of Dewar with my husband Steve, our dog Emma, and our house cat Grace, and our shop cats Pumpkin and Peanut. I
have two step-children named Louis and Katie.

My Hobbies
I like to spend my time walking the dog, cooking, reading, knitting, and watching movies. My favorite thing to do is
to talk with friends while drinking a Cafe Au Lait at Cup of Joe.
